Red Dress Gala
The Red Dress Gala is the biggest philanthropic event Alpha Phi hosts. Festivities include dinner, a live and silent auction, speakers, and lots of fun! All the members of Alpha Phi will wear red in support of women's heart health. For the 2022 Red Dress, we were finally able to have it in person!
Heart Health Week
Heart Health Week is an entire week in September dedicated to raising awareness for the importance of women's heart health. Alpha Phi puts on various events including givebacks with local vendors, workout classes, and wear red day! In the past we have done basketball tournaments, a carnival, Move your Phi't 5k, and more!
Mac N' Phis
One of our most popular events in the fall is the Mac N' Phis event! The Cedar Falls community is invited to come eat endless mac and cheese with lots of yummy toppings like bacon, broccoli, hot dogs, and extra cheese!
Let's Talk Numbers
Over the 2019 Academic Year, UNI's Alpha Phi was able to raise $18,933.03 for our philanthropy. $18,565 was raised in one night alone at our Red Dress Gala. $9,282.50 was donated to our local Allen Hospital in Cedar Falls, IA. During Covid, we we still able to raise $8,000 through our virtual Red Dress Gala.
Giving Back
You can always find an Alpha Phi volunteering at a variety of organizations giving back to their community. Our sisters volunteer at local hospitals, food banks, and churches. Members also attend other chapter's philanthropy events as well as team up with chapters and student organizations!
